Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri said on Thursday that both his country and Algeria faced challenges because of the current "dangerous" conditions in the Arab region.
"Egypt and Algeria face challenges because of the current dangerous conditions in the Middle East region, including the Palestinian cause and the situations in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya," Shoukri told Algeria's state television after meeting with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Shoukri arrived in the Algerian capital earlier on Thursday. In a statement on Wednesday, the Algerian Foreign Ministry said the Egyptian minister's discussions in Algeria would dwell on the Libyan crisis as well as pushing relations between Egypt and Algeria forward.
Soon after he arrived in Algiers, Shoukri held talks with Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra and Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
Shoukri said he carried a message from Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi to Bouteflika, even as he did not disclose the content of this message.
