Energy Regulator Appoints New Turkish Head

Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority member elected chairman of the international Energy Regulators Regional Association.

Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority Board Member Alparslan Bayraktar has been elected as chairman of the Energy Regulators Regional Association. 



According to a statement released by Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority, on Tuesday, a general assembly meeting of the association elected Bayraktar as chairman for a 2 years period. 



Bayraktar was elected an association management board member in 2012 and as vice president in 2013. He has been serving as deputy president since August 2013.



The Energy Regulators Regional Association is a voluntary organization of independent energy regulatory bodies primarily from the Central European and Eurasian regions, with affiliates from Africa, Asia, Middle East and the United States. At present, the association has 24 Full, 4 Associate and 5 Affiliate Members from 4 continents.
