European Exchanges Close With Gains

European stock exchanges closed with gains on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 0.31 point, or 0.06%, to finish at 498.52.

The UK's FTSE 100 rose 27 points, or 0.35%, to close at almost 7,848 and Germany's DAX 30 added 3.79 points, or 0.02%, to 17,770.

France's CAC 40 increased 48 points, or 0.62%, to reach 7,981 at the final bell.

Italy's FTSE MIB was up 238 points, or 0.72%, to end the session at 33,632.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, rising 107 points, or 1.02%, to finish at 10,633. -
