A former Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy and lawyer has won a lawsuit against pro-government businessman Mehmet Cengiz, the chairman of Cengiz Holding, who the former deputy sued because of the businessman's use of vulgar language.
The former deputy, lawyer Süleyman Sarıbaş, has promised to use the money awarded in the lawsuit to sponsor a new ablution area and bathroom for the mosque in his hometown.

“I went to the mosque in my village in December. The ablution room and bathrooms were in very bad condition. I called on the imam and the villagers and said that once summer comes, I will have new ones made. The project was prepared the other day, and now his [Cengiz] money will go where it belongs,” Sarıbaş said.

Sarıbaş successfully sued Cengiz in court for TL 10,000 over an incident in which the businessman reportedly told his friend, “We will f--k this nation,” a reference to the people of Turkey. The vulgar language was featured in a wiretapped telephone conversation leaked as part of major corruption and bribery investigations that went public on Dec. 17 and 25 of 2013.
