Police sources are claiming that five people have been killed during a Taliban attack on a police station in Afghanistan's northern Sar-e Pol province on Saturday morning.
Four Taliban militants and one police officer died and 10 others – five militants and five security force officers – were wounded in the fighting which happened in the Sayyad district, according to provincial police chief Noor Habib Gulbahari.
He also claimed a large amount of munitions and weapons had been seized.
Violence has spiked in the country in recent months as most foreign troops prepare to leave Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
