Floods also disrupt life in UAE, cancel several flights.

At least 17 people have been killed in Oman on Tuesday in flash floods sparked by heavy rainfall since Sunday, the National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) said.

In response to the adverse weather conditions, the government has suspended work for employees and workers across both public and private sectors in five governorates, including Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, and Al Dakhiliyah.

Omani authorities are engaged in rescue efforts following the closure of all schools in six governorates, including Muscat, due to precarious weather conditions.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecasted for northeastern and northern Oman in the coming days.

Due to heavy rainfall also affecting life in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), some flights have also been canceled.

According to a report on the UAE's official news agency WAM, severe rainfall has impacted life in various regions, including the capital Abu Dhabi and the city of Dubai.

Flooding has occurred due to the rainfall, with some cars submerged on streets.

Fly Dubai, one of the UAE's airlines, has canceled some flights due to adverse weather conditions, while many others have been postponed.

Additionally, the UAE Football Federation has announced the postponement of all local football matches scheduled for today, with new dates to be determined later. -
