The number of Syrian people, who fled clashes between the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) in Cobani and arrived in Turkey, has neared 50,000 in the last two days.
Saving their lives barely from the ongoing clashes, thousands of people, including children and women, passed through wire fences into Suruç district of Şanlıurfa province. The large crowd, who filled the streets in the province, waited for a helping hand from the locals and the officials.
Officials placed some groups of Syrians to schools and guest houses of some governmental institutions.
One of the refugees named Ahmad bin Mohammad told Cihan news agency that they had to leave all of their belongings behind due to attacks carried out by the IS. Mohammad said he had to enter Turkey by carrying his seven-year-old daughter and some possessions in the back with great difficulties although he is injured. “I don’t know what to do now. I have many close relatives I left behind. I don’t know how to look after my daughter,” added Mohammad crying.
