Football: Galatasaray Aims To Maintain Lead İn Spor Toto

Spor Toto Super League leaders, Galatasaray, will aim to maintain their lead in a crucial match of the top football division in Istanbul Friday.



Injuries of Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo and Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz, however, will dismay Galatasaray during its match against SAI Kayseri Erciyesspor at Turk Telekom Arena that begins at 8 p.m. local time (1800 GMT).



The Istanbul-based football club, Galatasaray, is at the top of the league with 48 points.



Another Istanbul heavyweight, Fenerbahce, also wants to come out on top of the league by winning against Torku Konyaspor Saturday. With 46 points, Fenerbahce are third in the standings.



Fenerbahce, however, are a bit down under with their Turkish goalkeeper Volkan Demirel and offensive left-back Caner Erkin suspended for the match, which will be played at Konya Metropolitan Torku Arena at 7 p.m. (1700 GMT).



Besiktas are also in the tight race. Sitting at second place with 47 points, Black Eagles will meet Balikesirspor in Ankara Sunday. Besiktas' midfielders Necip Uysal and Oguzhan Ozyakup have been suspended for the match that will be played at Osmanli Stadium at 7 p.m. (1700 GMT).
