UEFA will not take action against Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb after one of their players failed a drug test, European football's governing body said Thursday.
Midfielder Arijan Ademi tested positive following the club's 2-1 Champions League victory over English club Arsenal on Sept. 16.
"Only in the case of more than two players from the same team having been found to have committed a doping violation in the same competition are team sanctions imposed," UEFA said in an emailed statement to Anadolu Agency.
However, according to a statement on Dinamo's website, UEFA has started disciplinary action against the 24-year-old Macedonian player.
The club said Ademi had been tested six times over the last year with negative results each time.
Dinamo currently lie third in Group F of the competition, a place above bottom-placed Arsenal who have been beaten in both their games so far. Bayern Munich top the group. - Ankara
