The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced the net figures for the purchases made by foreigners on Borsa Istanbul last week. Accordingly, individuals living abroad showed great interest in stocks in Turkey. A total net purchase of $73.8 million in shares was made.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced net data regarding buying and selling transactions on Borsa Istanbul. In the data for the week ending February 21, the purchase amount made by foreign residents was realized at 73.8 million dollars.

According to the data announced by the Central Bank, net purchases of government bonds (Direct Purchase) in the same week amounted to 179.8 million dollars. Net purchases of government bonds (Reverse Repo) by foreign residents were 365.0 million dollars, while net sales of government bonds (Collateral) were 330.7 million dollars. No transactions occurred for government bonds (Lending), while net purchases of corporate bonds were realized at 9.9 million dollars.

THE STOCKS OF FOREIGN RESIDENTS IN SHARES EXCEED 32 BILLION

The market value of the stock of foreign residents in shares was realized at 32 billion 151.9 million dollars. The stock of government bonds (Direct Purchase) was 19 billion 489.9 million dollars, the stock of government bonds (Reverse Repo) was 1 billion 886.4 million dollars, and the stock of government bonds (Collateral) was 11 billion 987.9 million dollars. Exports from sectors outside of general administration were announced at 731.5 million dollars.
