In Ordu, before the accident involving a "patpat" that resulted in the deaths of four people, including one child, and injuries to three others, including two children, footage taken with a mobile phone has emerged. The footage captures moments of family members traveling in the patpat waving at the camera.
The accident occurred yesterday around 19:00 in the Güzelkale neighborhood of Ünye district. The patpat, driven by Yusuf Tunçel (49), rolled into the ditch from a height of 25 meters after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. Health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area after nearby residents reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
4 PEOPLE UNDER THE PATPAT LOST THEIR LIVES
Under the supervision of health officials, it was determined that the driver Yusuf Tunçel, his sister Ayşe Tunçel (63), and his sister-in-law Güler Tunçel (55), who were trapped under the patpat, lost their lives. His grandchildren Burak Asaf Çimen (8) and Uhud Ali Çimen (6), as well as his son Onur Tunçel (8) and his wife Nurten Tunçel (52), who were seriously injured, were taken to various hospitals in the district by health teams. Despite all the interventions by doctors, Burak Asaf Çimen could not be saved.
TREATMENTS CONTINUE
It was learned that the injured Nurten Tunçel is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Ordu State Hospital, while Onur Tunçel is being treated in the intensive care unit of Ordu University Training and Research Hospital. Uhud Ali Çimen was transferred to Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Medical Faculty Hospital.
