The Transport Ministry of Germany has prepared a bill requiring non-Germans to pay for driving on its autobahns.
The fee, planned to be introduced in 2016 as an infrastructure surcharge, will be applied to cars and caravans of foreign countries -- but motorcycles will be exempted from the charge.
The highest annual fee is expected to be €130, while the average estimation is projected to be €74, according to the proposed law.
The Transport Ministry forecasts €700 million in revenue from the new regulation, which is planned to be used in transport investments.
