Barış Telli, who is part of the Amputee Football National Team in Kırşehir camp, made a great sacrifice by joining the camp just 24 hours after his wedding.
'I GOT MARRIED, I WAS INVITED TO CAMP'
In statements to İhlas News Agency (İHA), Telli emphasized that wearing the national jersey comes first, saying, "Our crescent-starred flag always comes first. I got married, and within 24 hours, I was invited to the camp. I am experiencing my honeymoon with 20 men. We are preparing well for an important championship. We are a team that is the European and world champion. We want to return from the championship with a good rank and a trophy. We want to wave our flag everywhere. The national cause comes first for us. My wife supports me being here at the camp. My being here also pleases my wife; she shares the same national feelings as I do," he stated.
'SHOWED A GREAT EXAMPLE OF SACRIFICE'
Amputee Football National Team Head Coach İsmail Temiz stated that Barış joined the camp by valuing national feelings, saying, "While the Amputee National Team is preparing for the championship in Kırşehir camp with both physical and tactical training, the players' high motivation and sacrifice once again demonstrate their belief in the team. My coach used to say, 'Even if I call you, don't come.' I told Barış the same thing, but he chose to come. National feelings prevailed, and he showed a great example of sacrifice," he said.
