Funeral Ceremony Held For Prosecutor Killed In Shootout After Taken Hostage

A funeral ceremony was held for persecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz who was killed on late Tuesday during a shootout after being taken hostage by two far-leftist the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C) militants at İstanbul Courthouse on Wednesday.

The ceremony was attended by top governmental officials – Parliament Speaker Cemil Çiçek, deputy prime ministers Bülent Arınç, Numan Kurtulmuş and Yalçın Akdoğan and Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ.

Following the ceremony, a funeral prayer will be held at Eyüp Sultan Mosque.
