Turkish team Galatasaray lost to Belgian side Anderlecht 2-0 at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in their UEFA Champions League Group D match on Wednesday night.
The defeat against Anderlecht in Brussels eliminated Galatasaray from the Champions League's Group D in the fifth matchday of the tournament.
Galatasaray, now at the bottom of their group, are mathematically unable to proceed in the Europa League.
In 34th minute, Galatasaray's attacking midfielder, Wesley Sneijder, missed his free kick, sending the ball wide of the net.
A minute later, Anderlecht midfielder Steven Defour's shot hit the bar twice. Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera then took control of the ball.
In the 44th minute, Anderlecht's Congolese defender, Chancel Mbemba, gave the Belgian side the lead with a diving header, making it 1-0.
In the 54th minute of the game, Galatasaray central midfielder Selcuk Inan's free kick was denied by Anderlecht goalkeeper Silvio Proto.
Four minutes later, Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz's shot from the corner was blocked by Proto.
A minute later, Galatasaray's Hamit Altintop was denied by Proto once again.
In the 62nd minute, Anderlecht's Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic has his close range header blocked by Galatasaray's Muslera.
In the 76th minute, Galatasaray were close to equalizing - but Burak's shot hit the post.
With seven minutes to go, Selcuk Inan was sent off after arguing with the referee. Galatasaray had to complete the game with ten men.
In the 86th minute, Mbemba tapped the ball deflected by the Turkish side's goalkeeper and Anderlecht doubled the gap to 2-0. He scored both goals of the game.
