Gaza's Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs on Thursday condemned a four-month Israeli ban prohibiting Islamic Movement leader Raed Salah from entering the Palestinian West Bank.
"This is an unjust decision," Endowments Minister Ismail Radwan said in a statement.
Under the Israeli ban, Salah will be barred from entering the territory until September 14, the Islamic Movement – a Palestinian NGO headed by Salah – said on its website.
Israeli authorities say Salah's presence in the West Bank "poses a threat to Israeli security and foments anti-Israel sentiments," according to the movement.
Salah, a vocal critic of Israeli settlement building in the West Bank and Al-Quds (occupied East Jerusalem), is also known for his efforts in raising awareness about Israeli violations against the iconic Al-Aqsa Mosque.
