Georgian PM Familiarizes With Construction Of New Motorway

Construction of the new highway running between Georgian cities of Tbilisi and Rustavi will be completed by late 2015.



The information on the project was presented to Georgia's Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili by Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister and Kvemo Kartli Region's Governor.



They said that following the completion of the highway's construction, it will be possible to drive to Rustavi from Tbilisi in 15 minutes.



Garibashvili talked with the builders as well. He said the highway will remove the problems related to traffic jams and accident situations, and moreover, the project is important for the fact that up to 200 local residents have been employed in its implementation.



The highway's construction was launched on April 22 by Chinese Sinohydro Corporation Limited.



The construction should be completed in 17 months.
