Germany is preparing to deport 200,000 people who entered the country illegally and had their asylum requests rejected. The first group to be sent back includes 13,000 Turks.
According to a news report in Sözcü Newspaper, Germany has decided to deport those who entered the country illegally and had their asylum requests rejected. The new Minister of the Interior, Alexander Dobrindt, announced that he would sign a decree regarding the matter as soon as he took office. Germany, which has a "Readmission Agreement" with Turkey, has also reached agreements with neighboring countries and Greece.
THERE ARE 13 THOUSAND TURKS IN THE FIRST GROUP
There are approximately 240 thousand illegal immigrants in the country. About 200 thousand of those whose asylum requests were rejected will be deported. The first group to be sent will include approximately 13 thousand Turks.
5 THOUSAND TURKS ENTERED GERMANY ILLEGALLY
Deportation flights are also expected to start soon for Turkey, similar to Afghanistan. In just the first three months of this year, around 5 thousand Turks entered Germany illegally.
