The search and rescue team that set out to intervene in the forest fire in the Taraklı district of Sakarya encountered an unbelievable obstacle on the D-650 highway. Despite the sirens and warning sounds, the driver of the car blocking the left lane did not yield for minutes. Even worse, they dangerously approached the team vehicle almost bumper to bumper. Personnel from a search and rescue team operating in Sakarya took to the Sakarya-Bilecik D-650 highway to reach the fire area in Taraklı. In an effort to quickly reach the fire in the area, a car driver who cut in front of the moving vehicle using sirens and warning lights did not yield to the team vehicle despite all audible and visual warnings.
HE CAME DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO THE BUMPER
The driver, who drew criticism for delaying the fire intervention that the teams were racing against time, even went so far as to approach the bumper of the search and rescue vehicle dangerously close. This delay during the critical minutes when the fire was spreading rapidly not only complicated the struggle of the teams racing against time but also posed a life-threatening risk.
