In Adana, Özgür Kaynat (31) fired 4 shots with a gun at his rival Abdullah Ay (34) from the minibus he was riding. Ay, who was sitting in front of his shop, was seriously injured, and the attack was captured on security cameras.
The incident occurred on May 26 at around 1:00 PM in the Şehit Erkut Akbay neighborhood of the Yüreğir district. Özgür Kaynat had been beaten by Abdullah Ay's brothers some time ago. For this reason, Özgür Kaynat, who harbored a grudge against the family, went to the street where Abdullah Ay's barber shop was located. Kaynat fired 4 shots at Ay, who was sitting in front of the shop, from inside the vehicle. Abdullah Ay, who was hit by the bullets, was left in a pool of blood, while Özgür Kaynat fled in the minibus after threatening the driver and got off a short while later. The attack was recorded by the minibus's security camera, and Abdullah Ay was taken to Adana City Training and Research Hospital by ambulance.
SUSPECTS CAPTURED
Teams from the Yüreğir District Police Department's Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau determined that Özgür Kaynat was wanted for a confirmed sentence of 19 years, 5 months, and 15 days in prison for 'intentional injury'. Kaynat, who was found to be hiding in an apartment in the Gültepe neighborhood of the Sarıçam district, and Baran Yalap (21), who assisted him in escaping, were captured in an operation conducted at the address. Two unlicensed guns, one of which was used in the incident, were seized from the house. Özgür Kaynat, who was taken to the police station, denied the charges against him in his statement. It was reported that Baran Yalap had escaped from prison, where he was serving time for 'intentional injury' and 'drug use'.
After completing their procedures at the police station, Kaynat and Yalap were referred to the courthouse.
