A dangerous incident that occurred at the Westfield shopping center in London has sparked a huge reaction on social media. A young man who threw a heavy chair, approximately 1.2 meters wide, from the third floor brought shoppers on the ground floor face to face with death.
In the footage shared on Snapchat and later went viral on TikTok, a young man wearing a gray sweater and black sweatpants can be seen clearly throwing the chair over the glass railing. The incident, which happened alongside his friend's words "Oh my God, no way," sees the chair falling to the ground floor after passing by several escalators.
Fortunately, the chair fell just a few centimeters away from one of the shopping customers, and while it could have caused serious injury or death, miraculously no one was harmed. As the people around looked on in shock, the young man who threw the chair and his friends quickly fled the scene.
Footage that spread on social media after the incident drew significant backlash from users. Many stated that this was an attempted murder and that the young people should be caught, while some users commented, "If there had been a baby stroller down there, no one would have survived."
While there has been no response to the posts tagging the Metropolitan Police, the management of Westfield in Stratford has also not made a statement regarding the incident. Calls for increased security at the shopping center have been made, and the dangers of irresponsible behavior have once again come to the forefront.
