In Kütahya, Şükran Çubuk, the wife of bedridden patient İsmet Çubuk, who died in a fire on the ground floor of an apartment building, passed away 11 days later in the hospital where she was receiving treatment after being seriously injured.
In Kütahya, Şükran Çubuk (65), who was severely injured in a fire that claimed the life of her bedridden husband İsmet Çubuk (68), passed away 11 days later in the hospital where she was being treated.
The fire broke out on November 27 in the ground floor apartment of the 8-story building located on Şehit Piyade Uzman Çavuş Turgut Gündüz Street in the 75th Year Neighborhood, where İsmet and Şükran Çubuk lived.
HUSBAND DIED IN THE FIRE
Upon noticing the smoke coming from the apartment, neighbors alerted the authorities, and fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the residents of the building managed to exit on their own, the fire was extinguished by the fire crews. It was determined that İsmet Çubuk, who was bedridden due to paralysis, lost his life, while his wife Şükran Çubuk was found to be severely injured.
LOST HER 11-DAY FIGHT FOR LIFE
After the initial intervention by medical personnel, Şükran Çubuk was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. She lost her 11-day fight for life today.
Çubuk's funeral was held after the prayer at Atakent Aksa Mosque and she was laid to rest at Evliya Çelebi Cemetery. An investigation revealed that the fire originated from a multiple electrical outlet in the house. The investigation is ongoing.
