In the Karasu district of Sakarya, three individuals ambushed Ömer Akbay in a parked vehicle, shooting him multiple times and killing him. Akbay's 4-year-old son was also lightly injured in the foot by a stray bullet. Following the incident, threatening posts made from a social media account drew attention.
After a person was shot dead in the middle of the street while returning from shopping in the Karasu district of Sakarya, a person allegedly connected to the incident made threatening posts on social media. The police, who took action, initiated a search for the suspects.
THEY SET A TRAP AND KILLED HIM NEXT TO HIS SON
The incident occurred in the evening on 819th Street in the Kabakoz neighborhood of Karasu district. Three suspects, who set a trap in a parked vehicle, shot Ömer Akbay (35) multiple times with a gun as he walked with bags in his hands. While Akbay, who was seriously injured, died in the hospital, his 4-year-old son, who was with him, was slightly injured in the foot by a ricochet bullet.
THREATENING POSTS WERE MADE
After the attack, a person allegedly connected to the incident shared images of weapons on an account opened on social media, publishing threatening messages with the phrases "This is just the beginning." Additionally, images recorded in the area after the attack, clearly mentioning the name of the deceased Ömer Akbay, were shared, stating, "Whoever is on the right or left of this job will get what they deserve."
Following the posts, teams from the Sakarya Police Department took action. A search was initiated to identify who made the posts and to capture the suspects involved in the incident. Meanwhile, it is suspected that the person who made the posts is the one seen in security camera footage getting out of the back door of the vehicle wearing a hat.
