An important inspection was carried out against products threatening public health in Şanlıurfa. The teams of the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Zoning Department, together with the Food Control Branch of the Haliliye District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the meat warehouses located in the Şanlıurfa Trade Center (ŞUTİM) Retailers Site.
A TOTAL OF 1 TON WAS SEIZED
During the inspections, supported by police teams, unhealthy and spoiled meats prepared for public consumption were seized. As a result of the checks carried out in the meat warehouses that were opened one by one during the inspections, spoiled and rotten meats were found, which were stored under unsanitary conditions. In the initial examinations conducted by expert teams, it was determined that approximately 1 ton of seized meat was definitely unsuitable for human health.
THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE THEM TO RESTAURANTS
It was determined that the spoiled meats were prepared to be served to citizens, especially in restaurants and similar establishments where mass consumption occurs. The seized spoiled meats were taken by the zoning and food control teams to the Waste Center of the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality and were properly disposed of there. Strict measures were taken against this initiative that disregards public health. After the inspection, the warehouses where unhealthy meats were found were sealed and prohibited from operation. Legal action was also taken against the warehouse owners who endangered public health.
