In an operation carried out by gendarmerie teams in the Geyve district of Sakarya, within the framework of combating smuggling and crimes against animals, 98 illegal animals and 5 taxidermied animals were seized at the residence of an individual.

The Sakarya Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams conducted a raid on the residence of a person named Ö.K. in the Geyve district on Wednesday, April 30, as part of the fight against smuggling and crimes against animals.

THOSE WHO CAME OUT OF THE HOUSE ASTONISHED

During the search conducted at the residence, 5 black swans, 7 mandarin ducks, 4 common pochards, 7 Carolina ducks, 3 white mandarins, 31 dwarf Pekin ducks, 2 emus, 6 silver pheasants, 14 blue peacocks, 12 white peacocks, 3 lady pheasants, 2 red golden pheasants, 2 king pheasants, and 5 taxidermied animals were seized.

LEGAL ACTION INITIATED

The seized animals were handed over to the Sakarya Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate teams by the HAYDİ team. Legal action has been initiated against Ö.K.
