An earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 occurred off the coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia at 02:24 Turkey time. A video taken in an area where seals are densely populated reminded viewers of a horror movie.
According to a statement from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located 119 kilometers southeast of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the peninsula. The statement noted that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers and had a magnitude of 8.8.
SEALS EXPERIENCED GREAT PANIC
After the earthquake, which also recorded aftershocks of magnitudes 6.9 and 6.3, a tsunami warning was issued, and a video from the region drew attention. In the footage taken in an area densely populated by seals, it can be seen that a landslide occurred due to the tremors, and the animals jumped into the sea in a panic from the cliffs.
