The increasing tension between the US and Iran has triggered a rise in oil prices. Brent crude tested $70. Domestically, a price increase of 1.75 TL for gasoline is expected tonight. In the event of such a price increase, it is anticipated that the price of gasoline per liter will exceed 50 TL in many provinces.

Global oil markets experienced a sharp rise due to increasing tensions between the US and Iran. The announcement by US President Donald Trump that he has lost hope regarding the nuclear deal with Iran pushed prices higher.

OIL PRICE INCREASED

Due to geopolitical risks, the price of Brent crude oil rose by 4.3% to $69.77 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil closed at $68.15, up 4.9%.

TRUMP: IT WOULD BE BETTER TO DO IT WITHOUT WAR

In an interview with the New York Post, Trump stated regarding the possibility of a deal with Iran, "I am much less hopeful now than I was a few months ago." The President also said, "Iran will not be allowed to have nuclear weapons. It would be better to do this without war, without anyone dying. But I no longer think they are willing to make a deal."

IRAN: TEHRAN WILL NOT HESITATE TO TARGET US BASES

Iran's Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh directly responded to these statements, saying that in the event of an attack on Iran, US bases in the region would be targeted without hesitation. Tehran also issued open warnings regarding possible military escalations in the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman, and the Persian Gulf.

US IS WITHDRAWING PERSONNEL

The US has also begun to reduce personnel at its embassies in Iraq, Bahrain, and Kuwait, which are closest to Iran, as well as at the consulate in Erbil. Additionally, US bases in the region are on high alert.

EXPECTATION OF FUEL PRICE INCREASE

On the other hand, it is stated that the recent rise in oil prices will also reflect as an increase in fuel prices in the domestic market. Starting from Friday, June 13, a price increase of 1.75 TL is expected for gasoline. If this increase occurs, it is anticipated that the price of gasoline per liter will exceed 50 TL in most provinces of the Interior, East, and Southeast.
