On Saturday, an Iranian citizen committed an act of self-immolation in front of Parliament in Tehran, ISNA reported.

On Saturday, an Iranian citizen committed an act of self-immolation in front of Parliament in Tehran, ISNA reported.



According to agency, Mohammed Genberi, committed an act of self-immolation, was a resident of the province of Qazvin and was a dervish. Without any statements, having poured himself with gasoline from a bottle, the dervish committed an act of self-immolation.



With the help of police and people Mohammed Genberi was rescued and sent to hospital.



According to the Iranian news sites, Mohammed Genberi was a member of a religious group Ahl-e Haqq (Yarsan), and committed an act of self-immolation in protest.



As Iranian media reported earlier in June, two members of the Yarsan faith in Iran and across the border in Iraqi Kurdistan (Southern Kurdistan) staged angry protests and acts of self-immolation, after Iranian prison guards violated a religious prohibition by shaving off the moustache of a Kurdish Yarsan inmate in June.
