Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, evaluated Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the war with Israel, and the potential resumption of negotiations with the United States.

"WE DO NOT WANT THE WAR TO CONTINUE"

Emphasizing that they were not the ones who started the war, Pezeshkian said, "We do not want the war to continue. From the very first day I took office, my slogan has been to ensure unity within the country and to live in peace with our neighbors."

"WE HAVE NOT BEEN AFTER NUCLEAR WEAPONS, AND WE WILL NOT BE"

Responding to the question of whether Iran would give up its nuclear program for peace, Pezeshkian stated, "Netanyahu has spread the claim that Iran has been pursuing nuclear weapons since 1992 and has tried to convince U.S. presidents of this lie. We have never been after nuclear weapons, we are not now, and we will never be. This is confirmed by the fatwa of our religious leader. We have cooperated fully with the agency, but their attitude has disrupted the process."

"WE ARE READY TO RETURN TO THE NEGOTIATION TABLE"

Pezeshkian made a statement regarding the process of negotiations, saying, "We were at the table, and discussions were ongoing. The U.S. President had invited us for peace. During the talks, we were told that 'Israel would not attack without our permission.' However, while negotiations were ongoing, a bomb was essentially dropped on the table, and diplomacy was destroyed. Nevertheless, we are open to negotiations and inspections again. We have never shied away from inspections. However, many of our facilities were destroyed in U.S. attacks, and access is currently not easy. We will wait and see if access can be made possible again."

"THE ZIONIST REGIME ATTEMPTED TO ASSASSINATE ME"

Pezeshkian stated that there was an assassination attempt against him during the war, saying, "The Zionist regime attempted to assassinate me. During the meeting, they bombed the area we were in based on information from their agents. But if God does not will it, nothing will happen. We are not afraid of dying for the independence of our country. Our people have become even more united in the face of these attacks. My advice to the U.S. is not to get involved in this war initiated by Netanyahu's inhumane goals and genocide policies, as it will only bring endless war, fear, and insecurity to the region."

"TRUST MUST BE ESTABLISHED FOR NEGOTIATIONS"

Pezeshkian stated that they have no issues with negotiations but mentioned that Israel has pushed the situation into a crisis, saying, "We hope that after this crisis is overcome, we can return to the negotiation table. But there is a condition for this, which is that trust must be established in the negotiation process. While discussions are ongoing, the Zionist regime should not be given permission to attack again, and the war should not restart. The U.S. President can either lead the region to peace or plunge it into endless war."

"THE AGENCY LEAKED INFORMATION, OUR TRUST HAS BEEN SHAKEN"

Addressing the allegations that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been spying for Israel and leaking confidential information, Pezeshkian said, "Israel's use of information leaked from agency inspections against Iran has shaken our trust in the agency. Nevertheless, we opened all our facilities to inspection. However, the agency's latest report provided a pretext for attacks on Israel, and unauthorized attacks occurred after the report. The agency did not even condemn the attacks on the facilities under its inspection. This situation is contrary to international law and has damaged our people's trust in the agency."
