Israeli police forces have demolished a total of 50 homes in the Negev in southern Israel since the beginning of this year, a Palestinian activist has said.
Suleiman Abu Ebeid, spokesman for NGO Naqab Association for Land and Human Beings, said that Israel had demolished a total of 1,000 homes in 2014.
Around 220,000 Palestinians live in the Negev Desert, half of them live in villages established hundreds of years ago, according to Israeli data.
Successive Israeli governments have never recognized these Palestinian residents' ownership of the lands or the homes where they live.
Israel also refuses to provide them with any water or electricity services, Palestinian residents say.
