Israel Killed 2 Gazans Since September: Ngo

Israel killed two Palestinians and wounded 52 others in attacks in the Gaza Strip since September, a Palestinian rights group said Thursday.



Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights said in a statement that Israeli troops opened their gunfire on the border area in the Gaza Strip 29 times since September, killing two Palestinians and wounding 35 others, including nine children.



It noted that Israel's navy also committed 49 "violations" during the same period, injuring 17 Palestinian fishermen and detaining 49 others off the Gaza coast.



According to the statement, the Israeli navy also seized 12 fishing boats and damaged the fishing materials of nine other boats.



The center called on the international community to urgently honor its legal and moral commitments toward civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories and bring transgressors to account.



Israel signed a cease-fire agreement with Palestinian factions on Aug. 26 of 2014, bringing to an end a 51-day offensive on the Gaza Strip.



Palestinians, however, accuse Israel's navy of attacking their fishing boats off the Gaza coast and opening fire on farmland on border between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
