Ahmad Abu Saleh, a Turkish citizen of Palestinian descent, has been released by the Israeli police after three weeks of detention.

According to Turkish media reports that cite diplomatic sources, Saleh traveled to Israel on Nov. 5, where he was taken into custody.

The reports said he was on his way to Jerusalem before Israeli police detained him at a checkpoint.

Saleh was detained for 22 days, as he was considered a threat to national security.

Foreign media reports described Saleh as a representative of the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) organization.

“The Palestinian Prisoners' Society and the General Union of Palestinian Communities in Europe [GUPCE] condemn the detention of Abu Saleh and said it was an 'additional crime' against Palestinians,” Ma'an News Agency (MNA) reported in early November.
