Israel's Bombs Building İn Gaza Containing Aa Office

The bombing by Israeli forces of a building containing Anadolu Agency's Gaza bureau has been described as an "act of intimidation" by AA's director general.



The tenth floor of the building in the west part of the Gaza Strip was hit and badly damaged on Tuesday. There were no reports of casualties.



AA Director General Kemal Ozturk tweeted on his twitter account that Israel knew the coordinates of the agency's building and he considered the attack to be an "act of intimidation".



Six AA correspondents operate in a 180 square-meter office on the third floor of the building running a new reporting service which is expected to double the number of daily news reports, photographs and videos produced in Gaza.



Relentless attacks



Israel, which has ignored UN resolutions against its actions in the Occupied Territories many times before, started pounding the Gaza Strip on July 7 with devastating bombardments with the ostensible aim of halting rocket fire from the strip.



At least 1,119 Palestinians have been killed, mostly civilians, and more than 6,550 injured in the relentless Israeli attacks, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.



According to official Israeli figures, 53 troops and three civilians have been killed since the hostilities began.



Israel's military operation, dubbed operation "Protective Edge," is the self-proclaimed Jewish state's third major offensive against the densely-populate Gaza Strip – which is home to 1.8 million Palestinians – within the last six years.
