Israeli police on Tuesday launched search operations for an American religious student who went missing in Jerusalem.
"Police units continue search in Jerusalem forest area for missing religious 23-year-old American student," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld wrote on Twitter.
He said the circumstances of the student's disappearance remained unclear.
The spokesman, however, gave no details as to when the student went missing, but Israeli daily Haaretz reported that the U.S. national had disappeared Friday.
