Israeli Airstrikes Target Residential Buildings In Southern Lebanon

26.04.2024 18:12

1 injured after Israeli airstrikes targeted houses in Tayr Harfa, Aita al Shaab towns, says Lebanese National News Agency.

Israeli airstrikes targeted two residential buildings in southern Lebanon on Friday, injuring one person, according to local media.

Israeli fighter jets hit two houses in the towns of Tayr Harfa and Aita al-Shaab, according to the Lebanese National News Agency reported.

The injured person was rushed to hospital.

Moreover, the agency reported that Israeli drones targeted a car on the road between the towns of Dhaira and Zaloutieh, while Israeli artillery shelled the towns of Yarine and Jebbayn in southern Lebanon.

"Israeli artillery also targeted the Bab Thaniya area in the town of Khiam and the vicinity of Hamams Hill," it added.

Israeli warplanes also carried out two airstrikes on the town of Houla, targeting one house that was "completely destroyed," according to the Lebanese news agency.

This came after Hezbollah said early Friday that it executed military operations against Israeli army sites, claiming to have destroyed two vehicles.

There has been no statement from the Israeli side on Hezbollah's statement. However, Israeli Army Radio reported an Israeli was killed as a result of a Hezbollah missile attack at the Mt. Dov area in northern Israel.

Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by the Palestine resistance group, Hamas, on Oct. 7.
