Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya condemned Israel's airstrikes against Iran in a statement made in Tokyo and called for restraint from both parties.
The tension in the Middle East has risen again. Israel announced that it has launched a large-scale operation against Iran's nuclear program and military infrastructure. The operation, named "Rising Lion Operation," targets nuclear facilities and ballistic missile production centers in Iran.

Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya stated in a press conference in Tokyo, "We strongly condemn the recent attack that further escalates the situation," emphasizing that peace and stability in the Middle East are extremely important for Japan. The Japanese Foreign Minister called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to reduce tensions.
