Japanese Corporation Becomes Consultant For Steel Complex Project In Azerbaijan

Japanese Marubeni Corporation will render consulting services to the Azerbaijani side as part of the Azerbaijan steel complex establishment project.

Japanese Marubeni Corporation will render consulting services to the Azerbaijani side as part of the Azerbaijan steel complex establishment project.



The contract has been recently signed between Marubeni Corporation and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry, the ministry reported on April 23.



The Japanese company will act as a project consultant at all stages from the iron ore mining in Ganja and Dashkasan to steel production, according to the contract. Marubeni Corporation will explore the raw materials in the country, make proposals on the use of modern technologies in steel production and product range, to be produced by the complex, as well as analyze the internal and perspective external markets.



Marubeni Corporation was founded in Japan in 1858. It has 120 offices in 65 world countries. The company's turnover amounted to $126 billion in 2012.



Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on "Establishment of the steel production complex in Azerbaijan" on April 23, 2013.



Azerbaijani steel production complex is a closed joint stock company involved in design, construction and management of the steel production complex in Ganja city and Dashkasan region. It covers all stages from the iron ore mining to steel production, using new technologies in this field, modernization of material technical base and its effective use, as well as other work related to the development of the sphere.
