Today's Zaman Editor-in-Chief Bülent Keneş was referred to the 4th Penal Court of Peace for arrest on Thursday on accusations of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in the most recent instance of a crackdown on critical members of the Turkish media.
In relation to the decision made by an İstanbul-based prosecutor, Keneş posted two tweets via his Twitter account and wrote: "Prosecutor Umut Tepe referred me to the 4th Penal Court of Peace for arrest based on a claim of insulting President!"
In his second tweet, Keneş said: "Lets hope for the best. The law in the country has hit rock bottom... Despotism in full speed!" (Cihan/Today's Zaman)
