Emergency Medical Technician Öznur Bolat, who is stationed in Osmaniye, saved the life of 29-year-old hydrocephalus patient E.A., who had a plum lodged in his throat, by guiding his mother N.A., who called the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following Bolat's instructions, N.A. performed the Heimlich maneuver, successfully dislodging the plum from her son's throat. Those moments were recorded by the call center.

Mother N.A., who lives in the village of Kırıklı in Osmaniye, called the 112 Emergency Call Center when she noticed that her 29-year-old child E.A., who suffers from hydrocephalus, could not breathe at 11:00 PM on Wednesday, June 23.
REQUESTED EMERGENCY HELP ON THE PHONE
Mother N.A. stated on the phone that a plum got stuck in her disabled child's throat, saying, "The plum I gave to my disabled child got stuck in his throat. You need to do something urgently, you need to tell me."
MOTHER GUIDED BY THE TECHNICIAN SAVED HER SON'S LIFE
The emergency medical technician Öznur Bolat, who answered the call from the Osmaniye Provincial Ambulance Service Chief Physician's Training Unit, maintained her calm thanks to her training and experience and guided the mother on the Heimlich maneuver. Following the instructions given, the mother performed the Heimlich maneuver and was able to remove the plum that had gotten stuck in her son's throat.

While guiding the mother on treatment over the phone, technician Bolat also directed the Düziçi 3rd 112 team to the address. The medical teams reached the village within 9 minutes and checked the patient's general condition. Emergency Medical Technician Öznur Bolat asked the woman to contact the call center again if there were any negative developments in the patient's health condition.

I am also a mother. I understand the anxiety and concern of that mother very well. The relief in the mother when the plum came out of the throat also affected me. I was very happy."
