CHP Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal, who came to the region to observe the trial of Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, had a heated argument with the gendarmerie commander due to security measures.
"THIS IS HAPPENING FOR THE FIRST TIME"
Tanal expressed his frustration, stating that he had to leave his vehicle about 1 kilometer away from the courtroom. He noted that he had never encountered such an obstruction in previous trials he attended, saying, "Why are we experiencing a problem today that hasn't existed for 17 years? We are leaving the car 1 kilometer away. I have been attending these trials for years, and this is happening for the first time!"
"IF NOT, I WILL RESIGN"
During the argument, when a security officer said, "Your official vehicle is blocking traffic," Tanal challenged, "Let's see together! If not, I will resign from my position as a deputy!"
DESCRIBED AS "POLITICAL PRESSURE" AND "CONSPIRACY"
Tanal characterized the application as "political pressure" and "conspiracy." Reacting to the events, the CHP deputy protested, saying, "This is a conspiracy! I do not accept this!"
