At least 12 people were killed and five were injured in a major pileup in eastern Turkish province of Şanlıurfa on Sunday.
The accident occurred at noon hours on the 20th kilometer of Şanlıurfa-Akçakale road. According to the initial reports at least 12 people lost their lives as a result of the chain-reaction crash to which involved a concrete-mixer truck, a minibus and a car. Numbers of ambulances and firefighter teams dispatched to the scene upon the reports of the witnesses. Injured people were immediately hospitalized.
The accident was apparently caused by rainy and foggy weather.
