Mali: 26 Dead As Boat Capsizes İn Niger Delta

At least 26 people died after a motorized boat capsized in the river Niger in central Mali, an administrative source said.



The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said on Thursday evening that search operations are still ongoing. 



The same source added that the accident occurred on Wednesday north of the city of Mopti, in the Inner Niger Delta region.



He blamed poor weather conditions, which caused panic among the passengers.



The victims had gathered on one side of the boat, causing it to capsize.
