Maureen Freely Among Guests Of TÜYAP Book Fair

American novelist Maureen Freely, who is known for her translations of books by Turkish Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk, is among the guests of the upcoming TÜYAP İstanbul International Book Fair, the Cihan news agency reported on Friday. The 33rd edition of the fair will also be attended by Petros Markaris, Janusz Glowacki, writer-film historian Philip Kemp, Tess Gerritsen and Glenn Meade.

American novelist Maureen Freely, who is known for her translations of books by Turkish Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk, is among the guests of the upcoming TÜYAP İstanbul International Book Fair, the Cihan news agency reported on Friday.

The 33rd edition of the fair will also be attended by Petros Markaris, Janusz Glowacki, writer-film historian Philip Kemp, Tess Gerritsen and Glenn Meade.

A total of 40 foreign writers will take part in the TÜYAP book fair at the TÜYAP Fair and Convention Center in Büyükçekmece.

Set to run from Nov. 8 to 16, the fair will be held under the theme “100 Years of Turkish Cinema” and host the veteran film critic and writer Atilla Dorsay as its writer of honor, while Hungary will be the guest of honor.

More than 800 publication houses and non-governmental organizations from Turkey and abroad will take part in the TÜYAP book fair, which will feature 270 events, including question-and-answer sessions, panels and activities for children.
