As part of the security measures taken by the Istanbul Governorship for May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day, some roads in Beyoğlu, Şişli, Beşiktaş, Kadıköy, and Kartal have been closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Citizens wishing to use Taksim Square are being directed to alternative routes, while some metro, metrobüs, and Marmaray stations have been closed in both directions.
The Istanbul Governorship, with the decision taken as part of the measures for May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day, has closed many roads and squares across the city, including Fatih, Beyoğlu, Şişli, Beşiktaş, as well as Kadıköy where the Confederation of Revolutionary Workers' Unions (DİSK) will hold a celebration, and Kartal where the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ) will celebrate, to vehicle and pedestrian traffic starting from 05:00.
DRIVERS HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
Police teams closed the entrances and exits of the roads predetermined by the governorship with iron barriers, while directing pedestrians and drivers wishing to use the Unkapanı-Atatürk Bridge, Galata Bridge, and Taksim Square to alternative routes.
RESTRICTIONS IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
As part of the measures taken by the governorship, services have also been suspended at some metro, metrobüs, and Marmaray stops. On the M2 Yenikapı-Seyrantepe-Hacıosman metro line; all entrances and exits of the Vezneciler, Haliç, Şişhane, Taksim, Osmanbey, Mecidiyeköy, Gayrettepe, and Zincirlikuyu stops have been closed.
METROBÜS STOPS HAVE BEEN CLOSED
On the M11 Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport metro line; the Gayrettepe stop, and on the M7 İstoç-Yıldız metro line, all stops between Kağıthane and Yıldız have been temporarily taken out of service. Additionally, the metrobüs stops at Çağlayan, Mecidiyeköy, and Zincirlikuyu, as well as Marmaray's Sirkeci station, have also been closed in both directions.
