A Mi-8 helicopter has crashed on take-off from a military base in Khabarovsk and investigators are working at the scene, the chief military investigation department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced, without specifying the number of dead or injured, RIA Novosti reports.



According to preliminary information, on March 14 at 16.04 at Khabarovsk-Central airport prior to take-off during a system testing of the MI-8, the helicopter suddenly lurched and rotor blades touched the ground resulting in a damage of the rotor blade and avulsion of the tail boom. The tail rotor was destroyed, the report says.



Now all the documents have been seized from the military base and investigators are questioning the flight crew and technical personnel.
