A gerdarme convoy was attacked by suspected Kurdish insurgents in eastern Turkey on Wednesday, the local authority said in a statement.
Elazig governor's office said there were no casualties in the IED attack on a convoy of gendarmes travelling from Karakocan to an outpost at Yogunagac at around 1.35 p.m. local time (1035GMT).
"Hand-made explosives, thought to have been planted by PKK terrorists, were detonated during the passage of the convoy but there was no loss of life or property," the office said.
The statement added that PKK terrorists opened fire on security forces sent to the area after the blast. - Ankara
