Mine Collapses In Western Turkey, Leaving One Worker Dead

A miner was killed when a mine belonging to a private company collapsed in the western province of Kütayha’s Tavşanlı district on Tuesday evening.

The incident took place at around 7: 30 p.m. in the mine 15 kilometers away Tunçbilek town. The mine collapsed due to an unidentified reason, leaving two workers trapped. While Ramazan Mintaş was rescued injured from the mine, Mustafa Oran could not be saved. The body of Oran was taken to the morgue of a state hospital.

A public prosecutor conducted an inspection at the scene. The gendarmerie launched an investigation into the incident.
