DEM Party held its group meeting this week in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. After the meeting, the situation became chaotic. A group wanting to react to the Syrian army's operations against the YPG terrorist organization marched towards the border. The group, wanting to cross to the other side of the border, targeted the Turkish flag and took it down from the pole.

Communications Director Burhanettin Duran reacted strongly to the despicable attack. In a statement on his social media account, Duran said: "The treacherous attack on our glorious flag by supporters of the terrorist organization YPG on the Nusaybin-Kamışlı border is a clear provocation aimed at our nation's peace and targeting developments within the scope of the fight against terrorism."

A reaction to the attack on the Turkish flag at the Nusaybin-Kamışlı border also came from AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik. Çelik emphasized that those who did this will definitely pay the price. In a statement on his social media account, AK Party Spokesperson Çelik said: "We condemn the despicable attack on our glorious flag."

TBMM PRESIDENT KURTULMUŞ REACTS
TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş said: "I condemn the attack carried out by elements of the terrorist organization at the Nusaybin-Kamışlı border against our flag, which symbolizes the independence and sovereignty of our esteemed nation. Every hand that reaches out to our glorious flag means reaching out to all of our nation and our centuries-old brotherhood.
This heinous act, which is the last link in a series of provocations that have been ongoing for some time against the process carried out with great sensitivity and care towards the goal of a Turkey without terrorism, is a clear sabotage planned to poison our country's climate of peace and tranquility and to waste historical opportunities. It should not be forgotten that our nation has the will, strength, and determination to protect the honor of our flag, whether inside or outside our borders."
MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE: ADMINISTRATIVE INVESTIGATION INITIATED
The Ministry of National Defense, in a statement regarding the attack on our flag, said, "An administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the attempt to cross the border by sympathizers of the terrorist organization from the closed border gate in Nusaybin and the attack on our flag at the border gate. It is respectfully announced to the public."
DEM PARTY: WE HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE FLAG
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan made the following statement: "The incident of taking down the flag at the Nusaybin-Kamışlı border has deeply saddened us. Our party has no problem with the flag. We do not accept disrespect towards the flag, which is a common value of society. We absolutely do not approve of such behaviors that provoke a rightful protest march."
