Destici, who said, "Never. I am a Turkish-Islamic nationalist. I do not have a tribalist, racist understanding of nationalism," added, "If someone has aligned with a line, they have come to our line; we are standing where we stood yesterday. We were against the opening process in 2008, and we were also against the subsequent process. We believe that terrorism cannot be negotiated but must be fought against. There is no change on our part."
"GOD FORBID"
Destici also stated, "God forbid, what do I have to do with his line? We do not advocate a dry understanding of nationalism. We are Turkish-Islamic nationalists who carry the sensitivities of Islam in our hearts. We are not tribalists. This nation has carried the banner of Islam for 10 centuries. What does God say? 'None of you is superior to another; superiority is by piety.' What is piety? The one who has struggled more for God is the superior one," he expressed.
