New Decision in Kerimcan Durmaz's 'Encouragement of Illegal Betting' Case

Social media influencer Kerimcan Durmaz denied the charges against him and requested his acquittal during the hearing today regarding the crime of 'encouraging illegal betting.' The hearing was postponed to July 10 due to waiting for a response to the letter sent to the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

'Encouragement of illegal betting in a chain manner' crime, social media influencer Kerimcan Durmaz, who was arrested on January 8 and faces a prison sentence of 1 year and 3 months to 5 years and 3 months, appeared before the judge today. The hearing at the 23rd Criminal Court of First Instance in Istanbul was attended by the defendant Kerimcan Durmaz and his lawyers, who are not in custody. The hearing was postponed to await a response to the letter sent to the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

DENIED THE CHARGES

In his defense, Kerimcan Durmaz stated, "I am innocent; I did not commit the crimes attributed to me, and I do not accept them. Therefore, I request my acquittal." FROM THE INDICTMENT
